LAS VEGAS — The Altitude Intimates Show set for April 17-19 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will host a day of seminars on April 18 that have just been announced.
In the “Stop Online Brand and Price Erosion in Its Tracks” seminar on April 18 from 8-9 a.m., Alex Brandstetter, senior consultant at Marketplace Ignition, will explain what brands can to do to better manage their image and price in a transparent marketplace so they can protect their interests and influence sales.
“In 2018, Amazon will touch over 90 percent of all U.S. purchasing decisions,” the seminar’s description says. “Whether it’s ratings and reviews, FAQs, product use information or price comparing, successful brands understand that Amazon’s transparent, brand agnostic environment has made them the new product search engine of choice — influencing sales both online and offline.”
For the past six years, Brandstetter has been focused primarily on working with brand manufacturers selling direct to Amazon.com. Before joining Marketplace Ignition, Brandstetter ran digital marketing/ecommerce for peak performance strategist and best-selling author, Tony Robbins.
The “What Intimate Apparel Businesses Need to Know About Intellectual Property” featuring Ted Luymes, the principal attorney at Ted Luymes Law Firm, will teach attendees how to take advantage of trademark and copyright laws to build a brand. Luymes will discuss cost-effective ways to deal with black-hat and anti-competitive practices that he says are commonly seen in the intimate apparel industry.
A state of the industry panel will feature leaders discussing top current lingerie fashion trends. The panel will feature Yandy.com’s vice president of merchandising Pilar Quintana Williams, Mapale Lingerie & Resort CEO Angela Tobon, J. Valentine owner Judy Valentine, Roma Costumes CEO Sam Fard, and apparel industry veteran Christopher Scharff as moderator.
Following the lingerie industry panel, the Internet Retailer Executive Roundtable set for 11 a.m. to noon will discuss distribution, MAP pricing, ecommerce market strategies, Amazon and more. The panelists include Alex Brandstetter, Eldorado director of sales Bill Barna, Yandy.com’s chief financial and operation officer Jeff Watton and attorney Ted Luymes, with Christopher Scharff moderating.
Altitude wraps its slate of seminars with the “Get Pitch Slapped!” seminar from noon to 1 p.m. The seminar features professor Lewis Jaffe, an educator, entrepreneur, public speaker and executive coach.
