Guyhop App Fills Hole Left by Craigslist Personals Shutdown

LOS ANGELES — Guyhop, Social Smarts Networks’s new web-based hookup app for gay men, said it has recently seen user-registration growth in the wake of Craigslist’s personals section’s sudden departure.

“Many gay men established special relationships within the Craigslist and Grindr communities, and Guyhop is looking to fill that gap for those seeking a better alternative — a secure and private place to hook up,” Social Smarts CEO Rob West said.

The free location-based hookup service, which bills itself as “a true adult playground for horny gay men, bisexual couples and groups,” offers easy-to-use navigation, uncensored content, chat/messaging options, photo privacy guard and filters to seek out favorite personal interests, tastes and positions, West said.

"New Guyhop members will appreciate having the freedom of using our web-based service, without the rules and restraints of regular mobile apps, and they also feel more at ease with our enhanced privacy and security measures in place,” West said. “We strive to keep our customers happy and welcome any feedback to improve their user experience.”
