'Sex, Drugs, Success' Panel to Feature Female Execs of 'Sin' Businesses

SAN FRANCISCO — A panel discussion featuring female executives from the adult retail, cannabis, video and virtual reality industries, called “Sex, Drugs, Success — An Evening With Female CEOs of ‘Sin’ Businesses,” is slated for May 4 in San Francisco.

Lydia Sugarman, founder/CEO of Vennitive and Girl Groove — an online magazine, boutique and “unique private society,” is hosting the three-hour event that will include a party with drinks, music and goodie bags.

According to the "Sex, Drugs, Success" EventBrite listing, the discussion will bring together “inspiring female founders and risk-takers who will share their uncensored stories of the risks, rewards, and challenges of starting and running a business in a man’s world.”

The panel will feature Dale Sky Jones, the CEO/chancellor of Oaksterdam University; Kimberly Faubel, Clandestine Devices' director of operations; Feelmore Gallery owner/founder Nenna Joiner; Luster Productions co-founder Fivestar; and Amanda Reiman of Flow Kana as moderator.

“Ever since the Garden of Eden, women have been associated with sin,” the event description says. “But, many have learned how to turn a profit on it — from Miss Kitty who owned the saloon in Gunsmoke, the early 60’s TV Western to Maggie Gyllenhaal in ‘The Deuce’ and even Melanie Griffith in ‘Working Girl’ who famously said, ‘I’ve got a brain for business and a bod for sin.’

“This is a night of badass successful women who’ve drawn their own blueprints for success with a lot of inspiration and perspiration … in sin businesses. They will be sharing their stories of success, the lessons they’ve learned, and how you might do the same.”

Silicone lubricant brand SuperSlyde has signed on as sponsor of  “Sex, Drugs, Success.” William, a SuperSlyde marketing exec, said the company is proud to be part of the event as a supporter.

“Sex, Drugs, Success” will be held on May 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Covo, located at 981 Mission St., in San Francisco.

Early-bird tickets are currently available for $20. For more information, click here.
