WASHINGTON — Attorneys linked to President Trump are reportedly considering legal action to stop CBS from airing next Sunday a “60 Minutes” segment featuring adult superstar Stormy Daniels.
Buzzfeed reported that an it was informed by “well-placed sources” of the forthcoming legal injunction. No details of it were disclosed.
Daniels allegedly had an affair with Trump was paid $130,000 through a nondisclosure agreement.
She sued Trump last week, claiming the nondisclosure agreement is null and void because Trump never signed it.
Michael Avenatti, a Los Angeles-based attorney, provided an email to CNN in which Trump counsel Michael Cohen confirmed the transfer of funds to Daniels' former attorney, Keith Davidson.
In other pertinent news, Daniels told InTouch she had an affair with the president in 2006. The magazine published the article only last month.
Four former employees said that the magazine didn’t release it for years because of a legal threat from Cohen, according to the Associated Press.
Payments to Daniels could spell legal trouble for the president.
Watchdog group Common Cause recently filed a complaint after The Wall Street Journal reported the existence of the $130,000 payment. The group has demanded a federal probe.
