AEBN has been working on this project for months, laying down all the groundwork needed to be able to operate under the strict laws that govern adult businesses in Japan, the company said. The U.S.-based global company took all steps necessary, which included becoming an incorporated Japanese business.
Due to the censorship laws in Japan that have been in place for centuries, companies, even those outside the country's borders, are unable to advertise and market non-mosaic content within Japan.
"This would be a huge step for any American-based company," AEBN's Michael Herman said. "It took a great deal of research, work and patience to create a product that would appeal to a Japanese consumer base as well as conform to the various laws. But we did it and hope to use our new position to help non-Japanese content producers get their products into this market while respecting the culture and their laws."
