Hyde Park director Ted McIntyre told XBIZ that he will helm Dark Realm and will start production on the division's first release, "Twink Awakening," in July.
This was a project McIntyre said he and producer Doug Knight have wanted to do for a while, but wanted to wait until the timing was right.
"It's a market that's not being met correctly," McIntyre said. "The stuff that's out there looks so fake. It'll let people know how it's done."
Knight said that Hyde Park received plenty of applications from twink models interested in BDSM performing, and after countless requests from fans, he decided it was time to create some specialty content.
McIntyre said he headed to ExtremeRestraints.com and shopped for a slew of BDSM and fetish gear and toys to use in the Dark Realm titles, and he said he has one model who requested that every tool be used on him on camera.
"He graciously volunteered," McIntyre said.
McIntyre said the BDSM supplies planned for use in Dark Realm titles include a sex swing, stockade ("You'll see how that's used in the final scene," he said) and a humbler tool that will keep the wearer on his knees.
Knight said the first shoot is planned on a 40-acre property in the Rocky Mountains, with half of the film's scenes to be shot outdoors. Once this film is complete, he said, he and McIntyre still start working on the next, and plans to release three Dark Realm titles per year.
"We're quality over quantity," McIntyre said.
He added that all Dark Realm films will feature basic BDSM play with nothing too extreme or rough.
"We're going to take it to a level that makes it look good, makes it real," Knight said. "I know this one's going to be good."
"Twink Awakening" will be ready for a Labor Day release, Knight said.
