COLUMBUS, Ohio — Operators of The Garden and The Chamber boutique stores located in Columbus, Ohio’s Short North District have announced an ownership change.
Opened in 1997 by Tom and Shawn Smith, the store grew to include three specialized boutiques. The couple's daughter, Lacey Thompson, the stores' former co-owner and general manager, has taken over ownership of the destination for lingerie boutique, toy store and kink.
The now exclusively female owned and operated store has a focus on body positivity, LGBTQIA+ inclusivity and education.
“We pride ourselves on our employees’ extensive knowledge and top-notch customer service,” said Thompson, a 15-year veteran of the industry.
“We welcome every person that walks through our door. It’s so much fun to walk them through their shopping experience and get them exactly what they were looking for.”
The Garden’s leadership staff is gearing up to “really polish the gem we have. It’s long been Columbus’ destination for adult fun and fashion; we are working hard to bring it into 2018 with style and class,” added Rin Musick, its general manager, who has been with the store three years.
“Get ready to see an updated and more modern social media presence,” Musick said. And “a more streamlined and cohesive fashion selection, and a grand re-opening party this summer.”
