TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — An arbitrator recently ordered the transfer of domain name Cam4World.com to the parent company of adult cam community CAM4.com.
Arbitrator Sandra Franklin ruled in favor of Surecom Corp.’s Cam4.com, which contended the domain holder was cybersquatting.
The domain holder of Cam4World.com was identified as Primejde Valentin of Romania, who did not respond to the complaint. Valentin registered the domain name in November.
CAM4.com contended that Cam4World.com diverted traffic to a site where it then displayed advertising in competition with the Cam4.com, which has held a U.S. trademark for cam services using the CAM4 mark since 2011.
In her decision at the Forum, Franklin ruled Cam4World.com’s domain name was confusingly similar to CAM4’s trademark, that the domain holder did not have any rights to the domain, and that the domain name was registered in bad faith. She ordered Cam4World.com transferred.
Surecom Corp. was represented by Florida attorney Paul T. Eidsness.
