NEW YORK — Unbound recently raised $2.7 millions from Founders Fund, Slow Ventures, Arena Ventures, SoGal Ventures and others, TechCrunch reports.
According to the report, Unbound is looking to completely shift away from third party reselling and will begin only selling products made in-house in the next year.
Unbound founder Polly Rodriguez also revealed that Unbound plans to expand into brick-and-mortar “to be more experience-driven.” Aiming to provide a “Planned Parenthood 2.0” experience, Rodriguez said her goal is to offer services like mammograms, pap smears and more.
“Female sexual health and wellness can become this thing we don’t dread,” she said.
Rodriguez founded Unbound after her battle with cancer and radiation-induced menopause. A bad experience shopping to lube inspired her to create a brand that empowers and educates women.
“One of the things our company and women of SexTech seek to achieve is to really provide more categorization,” Rodriguez said. “And it helps to decrease the stigmas and taboos associated with sexual health and wellness.”
