BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Eldorado Trading Company, distributor of adult toys, party supplies and lingerie, has released the 12th lesson in its award-winning e-learning series Elevate U, Sex with Disabilities and Chronic Illness.
The Sex with Disabilities and Chronic Illness lesson will give retailers tools to support customers who have varying ranges of mobility and functionality with ways they can access pleasure, adapted to their bodies. The lesson covers different types of physical limitations that could affect sexual activity and how to identify products that are recommended for those physical limitations.
Erin Basler, education coordinator at the Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (CSPH) and one of the personalities of Elevate U said, "Nearly 20 percent of people in the U.S. have some type of disability, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. This lesson from Elevate U invites you to think critically and creatively about how adult retailers can affirm pleasure as a right for ALL people."
Eldorado’s Elevate U 16-lesson e-learning series covers a variety of sexual health topics that go beyond product focus. The lessons empower Eldorado’s retailers with accurate sexual health information so they can confidently and correctly answer sexual health related questions.
Since Elevate U’s launch at the beginning of the year, the program has close to 700 learners enrolled and active in the program thus far. Elevate U is nominated for a 2018 XBIZ Award in the new category of Retail Education/Training Program of the Year.
“I have learned so much from Elevate U,” says Meg from Florida-based adult store Fairvilla. “Kira and Erin present sex positivity in an engaging way that makes me feel like I'm just chatting with friends versus watching a lecture. I honestly look forward to each lesson. I love the flexibility of being able to watch the videos on my phone or laptop. The lessons have drastically improved my sales and I feel good knowing the science behind what I discuss with my customers.”
The e-learning series is available to active Eldorado customers as an added value to working with Eldorado and new lessons will continue to be released throughout the remainder of the year.
