Naz told XBIZ that his show will consist of candid photos taken of a number of porn stars out of their expected environment. He said he shot pictures of several girls onset before they had made it to the makeup room, changed into sexy outfits and morphed into porn mode, giving them a different look.
Riley Shy was shot with "zero makeup," he said, Joanna Angel is featured in a casual T-shirt and Jana Jordan — whose portrait dons the art show's promotional poster — sits signing her model release before getting dolled up for a shoot.
"You'll see a lot of familiar faces," Naz said.
He said he used his favorite camera, a classic Leica, to shoot his portraits and then blew the photos up to make 20-by-30-sized prints for the show.
The Todd Browning is a new gallery in the area, and Naz said its owner had contacted him about showing his collection in a special exhibit. The owner already was a fan of his, Naz said, and had even purchased several prints of his from past art shows.
Naz said he liked the idea for the show, and after meeting the owner, he was on board. He printed this particular collection of photos exclusively for this art show.
Naz's collection will be featured at the Todd Browning Gallery until June 24. The show is located at 5239 N. Fairfax Ave. For more information, call (323) 782-9766.
