The Vortex uses a vacuum's air flow to create a vibration sensation while increasing blood flow to the clitoris and labia, causing them to become more sensitive and, in turn, the company said it produces longer, more intense and more frequent orgasms.
One end of the tube-shaped attachment slides over the hose of most large and hand-held vacuum cleaners — LoveHoney recommends 800 watts, tops — and the other end surrounds the clitoris without actually making direct contact with the organ.
The company offers two different attachments in the Vortex set, each providing a distinct sensation. The "Introducer" features an arch-shaped opening that offers more suction and less vibration, for what the company calls a "rolling orgasm." The second attachment, the "Seducer," features two arched openings that create more vibration, causing faster, more intense orgasms.
Because the tube surrounds the area without direct contact, a company spokeswoman said, the Vortex — designed by a woman, for women — won't irritate sensitive skin and can be used as often as desired.
Two customers so far have posted reviews of the toy. One woman claimed the Vortex gave her a two-minute-long orgasm — as well as a two-minute buildup — and the other said it gave her multiple orgasms, something she never thought she was capable of.
