LOS ANGELES — The Screaming O and the Woodhull Foundation have issued a joint statement regarding a seminar at the recent Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit.
“On August 4, 2017, experts paid for by Screaming O participated in a workshop, dealing with body safe sex toys, held at the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit 2017 (‘Summit’), in the metro Washington D.C. area. The Summit was hosted by the Woodhull Freedom Foundation (‘Woodhull’). Screamin O did not sponsor the workshop as Woodhull does not permit sponsored workshops. The panel was recorded by Screaming O, and a video of the entire presentation was published on Screaming O’s website.
Due to some miscommunications and misunderstandings by both parties as to the need to obtain audience consent prior to recording the workshop, the published video included audio recording of audience participation. The full video has since been removed from Screaming O’s website, and replaced with an edited version which does not include any audience participation.
Both parties apologize for any confusion that may have resulted from this issue, and Screaming O has agreed to never publish any portion of the video containing audience participation. It will further cooperate in efforts to remove the video from any third-party outlets.
Woodhull and Screaming O respect the privacy rights of the Summit attendees and are happy this matter has been resolved in an amicable fashion."
