German national soccer team captain Michael Ballack and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn sued Europe’s largest chain of adult stores after being immortalized in a series of sex toys named Michael B and Oli K, respectively.
The toys hit the market shortly before the 2006 World Cup, which Germany hosted, to capitalize on the players’ exposure.
“The products have been withdrawn,” a Beate Uhse spokesperson told Reuters. “We have to pay 50,000 euros to each of them.”
Although the soccer stars’ last names were not used on the products, the settlement said it was clear that the sex toys referred to Ballack and Kahn.
