McKai, who said he's comfortable with being considered an alt-porn authority, is often credited as the founder of the genre, having introduced an edgier, tattooed and pierced realm of adult entertainment.
McKai, along with Virago and Winkytiki, will choose clips from his most influential Vivid-Alt titles to be screened at 11:45 p.m., May 5, at the Los Feliz 3 theater in Los Angeles.
McKai told XBIZ he plans to show snippets of "Art School Sluts" and a synoptic version of "Girls Lie" at the festival, having chosen those two titles because of their unique take on adult.
"[In 'Girls Lie,'] they're naturalistic," McKai said. "Instead of spending a ton of money in one day, we bought more time to work with the talent to bring out something real in each female performer. We got to the real core of it; it looks like an indie movie."
McKai said he will "be who I am and speak when spoken to" on the Porn Panel, presented by online adult consumer portal XFANZ.com. McKai will sit and discuss various aspects of the industry with adult veterans Nina Hartley, Ira Levine and Sharon Mitchell, director of the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation.
"Nina Hartley, Ira Levine, Sharon Mitchell — what can I tell them?" McKai said. "I'm a junior member on that panel."
The Porn Panel will be held May 10 at 8 p.m. at a venue to be announced. The festival will take place May 3-12.
