In an article titled "She’s No Angel: Punk Princess of Porn," writer David Foxley tells of Angel's start in adult as a nude model on her website, BurningAngel.com, and her decision to work in adult entertainment full time after a trip to the 2005 Adult Expo in Las Vegas.
Angel still runs BurningAngel.com, and now directs and performs in alt-porn videos for her company Burning Angel Entertainment.
The story also mentions Angel's short-lived directing contract with VCA/Hustler Video, which dissolved because of creative differences after Angel directed videos including "Porny Monster," "Joanna's Angels" and "Joanna's Angels 2."
“[Larry Flynt] really is into the traditional blond California porn that’s shot in front of swimming pools and waterfalls,” Angel said of the Hustler founder.
Angel later returned to Brooklyn, N.Y. to shoot her adult videos, including three editions of "Cum on My Tattoo." She thinks that although it's easier to shoot in Los Angeles, producing videos in New York adds something extra to her final product.
“I always think that the products we shoot out here turn out a little unique — it’s really cool," Angel said.
