LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures said this evening that its entire roster of feature filmmakers received individual nominations for the 2017 NightMoves Adult Awards.
All told, about 20 noms pointed to Wicked directors.
Director Axel Braun scored seven nominations. In addition to being recognized in both the Best Director (Parody) and Best Non-Feature Director categories, Braun earned Best Parody noms for his Wicked Comix releases “Suicide Squad XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” and “Supergirl XXX: An Axel Braun Parody.”
“His gift for creating high-energy all-sex content propelled both ‘Axel Braun’s Brown Sugar’ and ‘Axel Braun's Asian Connection’ to Best Ethnic / Interracial Release nominations,” a studio publicist said. “Additionally, Axel Braun Productions contract star Riley Steele's most recent designer vehicle, ‘Riley Goes Gonzo 2,’ produced by Axel and directed by his 24 year-old son Rikki Braun, received a Best Star Showcase nomination.”
Brad Armstrong’s many achievements were championed with an overall nomination for Best Feature Director.
“His sci-fi thriller ‘DNA,’ starring Wicked Girls Asa Akira — whose fine work earned a 2017 NightMoves Best Female Performer nom — and Jessica Drake, was recognized with a Best Feature Production nod,” the publicist said.
“’The Preacher's Daughter,’ Brad's suspenseful couples film showcasing Mia Malkova as the titular character, was similarly honored with Best Feature Production recognition.
“His explosive urban drama ‘Ethni*City,’ Wicked's first big-budget, scripted production to feature an all African-American cast, received a well-deserved Best Ethnic / Interracial Release nomination."
Several high-profile noms went to contract actress, writer and filmmaker Stormy Daniels.
“Her tension-filled erotic thriller ‘Vendetta,’ which she wrote, directed and performed her first anal scene in, received a nomination for Best Feature Production, while the overall excellence of her output was rewarded with a Best Director (Features) nom. One of the few truly iconic adult performers to emerge in the 21st century, Daniels earned a 'Best Boobs' nomination as well,” the publicist said.
Meanwhile, contract filmmaker Jonathan Morgan was rewarded with a Best Director (Features) nomination for “The Driver.”
While not formally under contract with Wicked, director Mike Quasar’s “Turn The Page” earned a Best Feature Production nomination.
"I am very happy to see our directors and contract stars nominated for such a wide range of projects,” said Steve Orenstein, Wicked Pictures president and owner. “We strive to create the best movies possible and appreciate NightMoves for noticing.”
