LOS ANGELES — CAM4 has taken on an official sponsorship pledge for Sunday’s AIDS Walk New York, purported to be the largest single-day AIDS fundraising event in the world.
The adult cam company has not only opted to be sponsoring with their brand presence, but its staff and executive office also will be walking in the event showing their support.
CAM4.com in a release today said it invites fans and performers to join them “in raising awareness and supporting the nation’s leading provider of HIV/AIDS care, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), via donations, physical participation and general support throughout the week and on the day of the event.”
CAM4 is the first adult entertainment company to sponsor the annual AIDS Walk New York event, now in its 31st year. So far, AIDS Walk New York has raised $150 million. The proceeds are used to cover prevention, care and the advocacy programs that GMHC provides for thousands of individuals and families affected in the tri-state area.
The event was of major interest to its Larry West, CAM4's regional events manager, for a number of reasons.
“CAM4 isn’t just about adult entertainment, we strive to help those in need and foster a community environment that brings everyone together to make a difference,” he said. “We want our viewers and performers to be activists and advocates of global social issues.
“We are committed to the empowerment of the LGBTQ community and we will continue to align ourselves with charities and fundraising initiatives thus working towards the greater good of helping people.”
CAM4 has created a SFW landing page that offers additional information, including ways to contribute, for Sunday’s event. It can be accessed here.
