Good Vibrations Honoring Donating Partners With Party on May 31

SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations will host a party at its Lakeshore Avenue store on Wednesday, May 31 from 6-8 p.m. to honor Bay Area partners in its GiVe campaign for social change.

The sponsors are the Transgender Law Center and Planned Parenthood Northern Calif. Representatives from each will be present to speak about their organizations. Good Vibrations staff exologist Carol Queen, PhD will host the reception.

“It is such an honor to play a role in supporting these two vital organizations, both serving constituencies that find themselves increasingly challenged by current events,” Queen said. “Good Vibrations stands by them, their fierce and capable staff members, and their deeply important work."

100 percent of donors' contributions at checkout in Good Vibrations stores goes directly to GiVepartners. Donations can also be made online.

According to a representative, Good Vibrations donates advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers, along with a percentage of retail sales that has provided much needed support for women's shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits and more. Other recent partners have included The National Breast Cancer Coalition and the Pulse Nightclub victims fund in Orlando, Fla. Good Vibrations does not take any administrative fees or charges, and fully donates the contribution and also matches a percentage or proceeds.

“We are proud to stand with Planned Parenthood and the Transgender Law Center,” said Jackie Rednour-Bruckman, executive vice president. “We share core values around education and sexual health and appreciate the hard work both orgs do so much. We are happy to raise funds and have done over five figures so far."

The GiVe Reception will be held at 3219 Lakeshore Ave., Oakland, Calif. Admission is free.
