LOS ANGELES — Bella Vendetta's directorial debut “The Training of Poe,” starring Chelsea Poe, will be screened at Oberlin College to highlight an example of “queering sexual education.”
“So many people learn about BDSM and other non vanilla fetishes and sex acts through pornography, Vendetta said. “I am so excited to speak to the students about the importance of showing things like pre scene negotiations and cleaning fetish tools etc and how witnessing these acts can contribute to better communications in their real life sexual encounters.
“This is the second time the film has been shown and talked a bout in an academic setting,” Vendetta added. “I feel that it's so important.”
Professor Barcelos, who is facilitating and teaching the class which will show the film, said, “This will be an exciting opportunity to close out the semester by drawing together a number of course concepts.”
The guest lecture will take place on May 2. For more information, follow Vendetta on Twitter or visit her Tumblr.
