TORONTO — Director Shine Louise Houston's newest film from Pink & White Productions, “Snapshot," was awarded "Movie of the Year" at the 2017 Toronto International Porn Film Festival, presented by Good For Her.
"It isn’t too often that porn intersects with thrillers and mystery," said festival producer Carlyle Jansen as she announced the win. "This director's sophisticated eye perfectly framed each touch and caress, expertly highlighting the sizzling chemistry and tension between performers. The film crosses genres seamlessly."
Associate producer Jiz Lee accepted the award on Houston's behalf, relaying the director's gratitude to festival staff and volunteers, and to the film's cast and crew — with a special shout out to lighting director Daniel R. Juenemann. Lee added a thank you to the film's 350+ IndieGoGo backers, many of whom were in the audience, noting that “it was their support which made the independent feature possible.”
“Snapshot” will run at various LGBTQ, adult, academic and indie film festivals such as the British Film Institute, Cinekink and screenings in Italy and Finland, before releasing its online debut on PinkLabel.tv this summer.
Houston's docu-sex series, “Bed Party: Jack HammerXL and Nikki Darling,” was also awarded the "Steamiest Straight Movie.”
