LAS VEGAS — War Machine’s sentencing date has been moved up about a month.
Clark County District Judge Elissa Cadish this morning reset the sentencing date to Wednesday, May 10, at 8:30 a.m.
Yesterday, War Machine was found guilty of 29 out of 34 charges stemming from an attack on porn star and ex-girlfriend Christy Mack and the man he caught in bed with her, Corey Thomas.
After the verdicts were read yesterday, Cadish negotiated a June 5 sentencing date with prosecutors and War Machine’s defense team.
Today, Cadish moved up the sentencing date to May 10.
War Machine, 35, was found guilty of six Class A felonies included in the 34 charges filed against him.
The penalty for the most serious Class A charge, kidnapping with a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, could range from a maximum of life without parole to a minimum of a 40-year sentence with a 15-year possibility for parole.
He also could get up to 20 additional years because of the use of a deadly weapon, such as the kitchen knives he used in the attack.
Those possible penalties don’t take in consideration the scores of other charges War Machine was convicted of yesterday.
