Retired fireman Capra finds Ash suffering from heat stroke during a hike and whisks him to safety. Lonely firemen Banks and Santoro comfort each other in the firehouse barracks. Meanwhile, Rizzo tenders his resignation to chief Russo, who is stunned to find out why the younger man is seeking to leave.
