LOS ANGELES — Stuart Canterbury has been nominated for Director of the Year in the 2017 XBIZ Awards, set for Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles and hosted by Ron Jeremy.
The nomination is for Canterbury’s political parody, “Republican Candidates Wife Swap,” released by Hustler.
“Larry Flynt is always very supportive of political satire,” Canterbury said. “This movie is not just about hot sex, but about exposing hypocrisy. Of course, Evan Stone is hilarious in his send-up of Donald Trump, but we go after all of them in this movie, with Katie Morgan as (Fox News’) Megan Kelly.”
In addition to his work as a director, Canterbury is a novelist and the author of “Turning Blue” — which gives a behind-the-scenes perspective on adult film production.
The XBIZ Awards show, celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2017, honors outstanding achievements in a variety of adult sectors, including film production, pleasure products, technology and retail. Many major performers have hosted the XBIZ Awards over the years, including Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Jesse Jane, Jessica Drake, Kayden Kross and James Deen.
The XBIZ Awards will coincide with the industry’s trade events series, XBIZ 2017.
