NEW YORK CITY — Before a packed house at Vivid Cabaret in New York City this week, former Vivid Girl Savanna Samson was inducted into the new Vivid Entertainment Hall of Fame (VEHOF).
With a room full of fans and photographers looking on, Samson said Vivid gave her “the most amazing opportunity that anyone could have” when the studio chose her to star in movies such as "The New Devil in Miss Jones," "The Masseuse," "Flasher" and "Looking In."
Since her retirement from adult films Samson has had what is described as "a blossoming career in fine wines." Last night, company representatives said she was "resplendent in a red gown as she accepted the crystal trophy award at the popular Manhattan night spot operated under a license from Vivid, by a subsidiary of leading gentlemen’s club firm RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:RICK)."
Samson has owned her own wine company since 2006 and her first red wine, Sogno Uno, was awarded an “outstanding” rating of 91 by wine critic Robert M. Parker, who called it “really opulent and luscious.” In 2011, she bought Fattoria La Fiorita s.r.l. and her wines are now sold in fine wine stores and restaurants throughout the world. To celebrate her induction into the VEHOF, guests were served samples of her latest vintage, Sogno Vero (True Dream), the first wine from her vineyard in Tuscany. It reportedly received unanimous raves from fans attending the induction.
Samson noted that she loved being a Vivid Girl and that while she uses her real name (Natalie Oliveros) in her wine business, her "sexy alter ego" will always live on in her movies and her Savanna Samson Wines.
Vivid founder and co-chairman Steven Hirsch created the Vivid Hall of Fame to honor the outstanding performers who have contributed to the company’s status as a world leader in adult filmmaking for more than 30 years.
“Savanna is a woman of great talent and beauty," he said. "She has many interests, but she was always very professional in her acting. We’re not the least surprised that she is now successful with her wine company. We’re honoring Savanna as our first inductee into the VEHOF because she was passionate about her work with us. She loved everything about being an adult star and totally enjoyed her time with Vivid, as we did with her. She continues to be a wonderful ambassador for our company.”
