PAWTUCKET, R.I.— The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health’s Study Sex College Tour (SSCT) is now in its seventh season, and to celebrate, CSPH has added members to its education team and expanded its workshop offerings. In addition, the SSCT will bring the CSPH’s “Sex Trivia” to campuses nationwide.
A spokesperson for CSPH said, “Students interested in bringing queer-inclusive, consent-based, pleasure-guided, and socially conscious sex education to their institute of higher learning have two options: either the SSCT’s traditional workshops, which mix a fun and playful attitude with relevant tips and information about sexuality, or the game-show style of ‘Sex Trivia.’ In addition to successful pleasure-centered workshops from previous years, such as 'Orchestrating Orgasms’ and Get Wet!,’ the SSCT also features more specialized lessons on trans activism, trauma-informed sexual practices, ethical kink.”
For the SSCT’s seventh season, educators Aida Manduley, Melanie Lucash, Noah Bogdonoff), and Erin Basler will join returning educator Kira Manser in bringing the CSPH’s unique presentation style to campuses nationwide.
Elyana Kadish, co-director of Choices at Clark University in Worcester, said, “The SSCT program is a unique and engaging way to further the conversation about pleasure, consent, and desire on college campuses. We bring SSCT to campus year after year because its workshops are unparalleled in the way [the educators] make the community feel empowered in their own sexuality. Our students love the feel, the fun, and the honesty provided by a SSCT workshop.”
The Study Sex College Tours, according to CSPH, have reached more than 60,000 students nationwide, including talks at University of Southern California, Brown University, Vassar, Tufts University, the University of Rhode Island, Northeastern University, and other universities. This year, the SSCT is made possible through partnerships with SpareParts HardWear, Good Clean Love, Maven Clinic, The Female Health Company, Joyboxx, and Uberlube.
Proceeds from the SSCT support the CSPH, a Pawtucket-based nonprofit organization.
According to CSPH, “The mission of the CSPH is to advance culturally inclusive, medically accurate, pleasure-informed sexuality education, therapy, and professional training. The CSPH provides sex-positive sexuality education and cultural dialogue through a wide variety of programming, including workshops, performances, and events for community members, practical skill-building events and classes for emerging and experienced professionals, and presentations for hospitals, medical organizations and at national conferences.”
