BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The Sexual Health Expo wrapped up its East Coast edition Sunday with another ecstatic crowd eager to learn about all things sex.
The Pleasure Chest, which also served as SHE’s education sponsor, hosted sex-positive seminars all day. Among them was Brandon B’s blowjob class.
“This event is great to gain feedback and learn from the people attending,” he said. “We [Pleasure Chest] have been educating the public for 23 years and we’re pleased to continue.”
The Pleasure Chest, which hosts weekly sex-ed sessions, will be hosting a press event on Oct. 13 at its New York location to introduce them to its array of classes.
Bedroom Kandi, the line of intimate products created by “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality star Kandi Burress, was on display at SHE NY. Rita Silva-Grondin said that unlike other home parties, Bedroom Kandi makes its own products, and is utilizing organic ingredients in what it offers.
“People care about what is going into their bodies,” she said. “In our cosmetics line, we don’t use any chemicals and all of our toys are body-safe and phthalates-free.”
Silva-Grondin also told XBIZ about the company’s upcoming new Luxe range, which will feature three new toys, including Entice Me, a vibe with three motors.
Pjur, a returning exhibitor at SHE, said this weekend’s latest edition allowed the company to connect with consumers yet again.
“We were the first silicone lube on the market,” said Richie Harris, CEO of the pjur Group USA. “And still, there are no smoke and mirrors with us, all of our products are FDA-approved. SHE provides a great space for us to get feedback and learn things from consumers.”
Nasstoys also exhibited, showcasing its new modern approach, said Taylor Means, who handles sales and marketing.
“This was a great, different experience for us,” she said. “We usually only do B2B shows but it was great to meet the end-users. Their feedback has helped us immensely.”
Among Nasstoys products showcased was the Oral Vibe, which is getting a revamp to make it more adjustable and will soon be made out 100 percent silicone
Sybian showcased new attachments made of medical-grade silicone. Among them was the Triple Delight, an item that made its debut at SHE NY. Bunny Lampert, Sybian education and product specialist, said that she is excited about the release because it offers customers a chance to enjoy the Sybian experience without penetration.
Lampert told XBIZ that although they currently offer the device in six colors, the company will soon be offering a limited edition new color for the holidays.
Pat from Bodywand said she was delighted to see “people come into the show with a smile on their face and leave with an even bigger smile.” She said that that was the reaction of most people that she observed entering and leaving the event.
Chakrubs exhibited at SHE NY again and Jessy Irving, director of operations, told XBIZ that this year felt busier with more people yet it still managed to be a comfortable, casual space.

Clean Light Laboratories showcased its sex toy storage pieces and took a moment for a “Sex With Emily” video interview in which company owner Carrie Martz said she’d “talk dirty” (as in sex toy sanitation) and then get cleaned up. She said one of the benefits of the Uvee case is that users can rest assured that their toys will be ready to use whenever they want. Additionally, the company offers a travel-friendly design that is TSA-friendly.
