SAN FRANCISCO — Falcon Studios Group announced today that it will launch a year of special events to celebrate its 45th anniversary with a special “No on 60” benefit screening of “Seed Money” the documentary about Falcon founder Chuck Holmes.
Falcon Studios, which started business in 1971, plans to celebrate its 45th year in business with a full year of events, promotions, special releases and celebrations.
Established in 1971 by Holmes in San Francisco, Falcon rose as the pre-eminent brand in the gay porn industry. Through the decades, Falcon has branched off into other successful niche brands JOCKS Studios, Mustang Studios, Falcon International, Falcon Str8 Men, and most recently Falcon Edge.
The studio will kick off the year-long festivities on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Kabuki Sundance Theater, 1881 Post St. in San Francisco, with the “Seed Money” VIP reception at 3 p.m. with guest speaker presentations and screening starting at 5p.m.
The documentary about the prolific Falcon Studios founder, who some would call the “Godfather of Gay Porn,” and chronicles Falcon’s rise to domination as the most recognized and successful gay porn brand in the world.
After a thriving year on the film festival circuit, “Seed Money” was recently acquired for distribution by Breaking Glass Pictures, and now returns home for this special one-night only event.
The special Falcon 45th Anniversary screening will include a panel discussion hosted by Sister Roma, with special guest speakers including Tim Valenti, president of Falcon Studios Group and NakedSword Network; “Seed Money” director Mike Stabile; and Free Speech Coalition Executive Director Eric Paul Leue.
“What more fitting way to kick off Falcon’s 45th Anniversary celebrations than this special screening of ‘Seed Money,’ which tells the story of visionary Falcon Studios founder, Chuck Holmes,” Valenti said. “Adult film producers like Chuck faced senseless obscenity prosecutions, so we’re thrilled to use his story to raise money to defeat California’s Prop 60, a law that could jeopardize the entire porn industry.”
Prior to the discussion and screening a VIP reception will be held at the Kabuki Sundance Mezzanine Bar.
VIP Ticketholders will have the opportunity to meet with host, Sister Roma, and the guest speakers, enjoy a no-host bar and light snacks and receive a Falcon Studios Gift Bag with one hit DVD from each Falcon decade and NakedSword.com membership passes.
Regular screening tickets are $20 and VIP passes are available for $100. Tickets and VIP Passes can be purchased here.
All proceeds from this special screening will be used to support the “No on 60” campaign, spearheaded by the Free Speech Coalition.
