YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Sassy Sensations chain’s Youngstown store was mentioned in a Sunday New York Times article that addressed conflicting opinions on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in the Rust Belt City.
In the Aug. 28 article, Youngstown residents Vincent Archangelo Strines and Mark Wasko debated Trump’s merits under a billboard for Sassy Sensations — which sells a variety of sex toys and pleasure products. Strines, described in the article as “normally a Democratic voter,” is supporting Trump in the 2016 presidential election, while Wasko is not.
Vanessa Fuchs founded the Sassy Sensations chain in 1997. In addition to the Youngstown location at 97 S. Meridian Rd., Fuchs owns two Sassy Sensations stores in the Pittsburgh area.
“We are so much more than that,” Fuchs said of the billboard. “We respect people’s right to privacy and realize the confidentiality needed for this market. But we also provide products for pampering, romance and pure fun.”
Fuchs said, “We like to think we’re about romance and keeping the relationship young and alive. Whether it’s a fun way to celebrate a bachelorette party, we’ve even seen some divorce parties. We’ve grown to include a men’s line as well. It’s all about making the woman, the man, the couple have some fun and enjoy each other.”
