PHOENIX — Clean Light Laboratories has announced the introduction of its first product targeting the adult pleasure products market, the UVee sanitizing, charging and storage system.
Founded in 2015, Clean Light Laboratories is dedicated to finding better ways to help people enjoy the use of their pleasure products in a cleaner and healthier environment. Launched in New York at the Sexual Health Expo (SHE), UVee is available in two sizes: the HOME Play and GO Play, both featuring a sleek custom design that helps hide toys discretely.
UVee was invented and developed by the mother-daughter team of Carrie Martz and Brooke O’Connor after researching alternative ways to clean adult pleasure products. From their research, there was no universally effective recommended way to clean sex toys — especially the more expensive rechargeable toys, with some manufacturers recommending the use of a condom with toys to avoid germs.
Clean Light Laboratories President Carrie Martz says the adult toy cleaners on the market today do nothing to completely sanitize and disinfect the surfaces of every toy.
“UVee’s technologically advanced system virtually eliminates any possibility of bacteria left on adult toys after use,” Martz explains. “Toys today are a lot more complicated than they used to be, with all sorts of nooks and crannies. UVee is the only product on the market that can effectively get to all those areas.”
Working with a microbiologist, UVee was tested using all the bacteria typically found on adult toys or from the areas the toys may be stored or come in contact with, such as bathrooms.
According to the company, its UVee system uses a specialized UV-C germicidal light as well as custom designed interior waffled reflectors, which has been scientifically proven to kill 99.9 percent of harmful bacteria found on toys, and two to five times more effective than sprays and foam cleaners in killing certain bacteria.
The patent pending HOME Play takes 10 minutes to sanitize contents and can hold up to three toys and charge them at the same time. The GO Play, which has a rechargeable battery to allow for travel, holds one standard toy or various compact toys, contains one USB charging station, and takes five minutes to sanitize the toys inside.
Martz says that with the heightened interest in sexual health and education, the company is excited to offer a product that supports the active use of toys in a healthier way.
“We made a product that virtually can clean any adult toy made out of any material without damaging the toy,” Martz adds. “From the Magic Wand, to male masturbators to couples toys, UVee will safely and effectively clean and charge the toys so that they are ready to go when our customers are.”
Building a sanitizing system was not enough for the ladies, and through a year of testing and research they added more conveniences to their product, including a child proof lock and USB charging stations.
“With the stylish, smooth, black and white trimmed case, and the child proof locking system, no one will ever know what’s inside, keeping your secret safe and sanitary,” says Brooke O’Connor, co-inventor and mother of two. “We added the locking feature knowing that is a worry for all couples, especially [those] with children.”
UVee will be available at major retailers this fall, with HOME Play carrying a suggested retail price of $179.99 and GO Play at $119.99.
