FSC Sponsors Inaugural CatalystCon Sex Worker Summit

LOS ANGELES — The Free Speech Coalition has announced sponsorship of the inaugural CatalystCon Sex Worker Summit in Los Angeles

The conference will take place on Friday, Sept. 16, at the Westin Los Angeles Airport.

CatalystCon Sex Worker Summit will kick off the fifth annual CatalystCon West, a conference created to inspire exceptional conversations about sexuality.

“In the fight for sexual freedom, centralizing the voices of those who make their living in the sex trade, and are on the front lines of the stigma around sex and sexuality, is of the utmost importance,” the FSC said in its announcement this evening.

“The Free Speech Coalition seeks to prioritize and amplify the voices of those who work in the adult industry, especially as we look toward November, and the dangerous implications of Proposition 60, which will incentivize the harassment of workers who perform in adult films.

“Creating a safe space for sex workers to share resources and ideas, and forge stronger community bonds, is part of implementing that policy.

The summit will feature speakers from across the sex worker rights movement, including perspectives from adult film, in person services, and survivors of sex trafficking. The presenters will facilitate panel discussions, mini workshops, and networking opportunities.

The all-day summit and luncheon is designed to be a “safe, sex worker-only” space created to have conversations on current topics relevant to sex worker lives, including issues surrounding legalization, decriminalization, self-care, resources and how sex work can impact personal relationships, among other topics.

Speakers slated to appear include jessica drake, Jiz Lee, ZLV, Meg Munoz and Andre Shakti.

This is a free event open to current and former sex workers only.  Registration is required and space is limited. Lunch will be provided courtesy of the FSC. To register, click here.
