MIAMI — Director Andy Weiss will begin filming a new documentary about the live webcam industry at CamCon 2016, to be held May 31-Jun. 3 at the SLS South Beach in Miami. Weiss, known for "Middle Men," "Whiteboy Rick," "After Porn Ends" and "Punk'd," will be on-site the entire week of the convention.
"The cam world is a unique exploration for us," Weiss said. "It may be the future of relationships and sexual intimacy in our world, and it is also filled with daring and colorful characters."
A spokesperson for CamCon, now in its third year, said that interest in the event "has hit an all-time high" and that CamCon 2016 "has sold out the SLS, the Redbury and has opened up another room block at the Raleigh to accommodate the last few weeks of new momentum."
CamCon 2016 will feature over 175 career models, social media stars and the top companies in the industry such as LiveJasmin, FreeWebCams, Chaturbate, Naked, Camster, Model Centro and Vuier. Many companies will exhibit, including card payment processing, hardware and software providers and Web advertisers who are seeking to network with new talent and up-and-coming businesses.
Clinton Cox, co-founder of CamCon, said, "Stacey Havoc and I created this show to give the hottest sector in all media the opportunity to collaborate and evolve the user-generated content industry even further. Whether adult or mainstream, it's undeniable that this segment of media is still at its infancy and only getting larger. In our lifetime, we have witnessed a change in all of media. Outside of adult webcams, we have watched YouTube, Intstagram and SnapChat produce numerous new-age careers for these amazing characters. So it's beyond exciting for our show to be a catalyst for the growth of this exciting sector."
The new CamCon 2016 event dates will coincide with XBIZ's summer show at SLS to ensure maximum efficiency for those looking to get as much out of their conference time in Miami as possible. Tickets are $125 per day or $225 for 2 days and seminars.
The SLS South Beach is located at 1701 Collins Ave. in Miami's South Beach area.
