PIRACICABA, Brazil — There may be a new “happiest place on Earth” coming to Brazil.
A group of investors announced today the 2018 opening of a sex-themed amusement park called ErotikaLand near the city of Piracicaba, which is about a two hours’ drive away from Sao Paulo.
The adults-only sex playground will feature an erotic sculpture park, genitalia-shaped rides, a nudist pool, a sex museum and a snack bar that features aphrodisiac recipes.
But there is one thing that won’t go on with the $100 admission fee — actual intercourse.
“This won’t be a place for nuns, but it’s not like we’re trying to recreate Sodom and Gomorrah,” investor Mauro Morata told the New York Times. “If attendees want to take things to another level, they can go to a nearby motel — which we will operate.”
The project does have its opponents, however, despite Brazil’s reputation as a forward-thinking country when it comes to sexuality.
Matheus Erler, a member of the Christian Socialist Party who leads the Piracicaba City Council, said he is worried that the park would attract “debauched individuals.” “We cannot be known as the capital of sex,” he said.
