NEW YORK — Janine, a performer at Rick's Cabaret in New York City, has shared a memory of the night she met Chyna, who died this week, in the gentlemen's club.
"I was a big wrestling fan, watching Chyna win match after match on TV," Janine said. "She was great, and I always rooted for her. A few years later, I was dancing at Rick's Cabaret in New York. That's a high class gentlemen's club, and I enjoy my time here."
Janine said that when they met, Chyna had made a film for Vivid Entertainment and was doing a promotional meet-and-greet at Rick's Cabaret New York.
"I was one of the Rick's girls chosen to pose for photos with Chyna," Janine said. "The press was invited for a quick photo op. Just before we met the press, the girls and I were introduced to Chyna. And she was so gracious and friendly."
Janine said, "She thanked us for helping her promote her movie and told us that we were all so beautiful. She was so friendly. She was nice, she was warm. I told her that I was her fan, and she embraced me. She told me that she had fun in the ring and was truly happy that I complimented her. It was Chyna, but it was also Joanie, the real person. I will remember her for being even better in person than she was when I watched her on TV."
Rick's Cabaret New York is located at 50 W. 33rd St. in Mid-Town Manhattan within walking distance of Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.
