BATH, U.K. — Lovehoney has been named a winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2016 for International Trade.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise is an awards program for British businesses and other organizations that excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development. They are considered the highest official U.K. awards for British businesses.
According to the list of the Queen’s Awards winners, Lovehoney’s “overseas sales have grown by 200 percent over the last three years with an increase in U.K. employees and overall sales. The proportion of sales exported has increased to 27 percent of total sales. It wins the Queen’s Award for International Trade for outstanding growth in overseas sales over the last three years.”
Representatives from the winning organizations attend a Buckingham Palace reception hosted by the Queen.
Lovehoney has expanded rapidly in recent years, dominating the online market for sex toys in the U.K. and launching dedicated sites for the U.S., Australia, France, Germany and the E.U. Lovehoney also has the exclusive worldwide license to manufacture pleasure products under the “Fifty Shades of Grey” brand.
