LOS ANGELES — The mystery of “The Five Love Languages” will be dispelled by sexpert Jennie Steinberg at her eye-opening talk set for the Sexual Health Expo (SHE) in Los Angeles on Jan. 16-17 presented by Sex Ed Sponsor The Pleasure Chest.
A licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional clinical counselor, Steinberg asks that if someone speaks exclusively English and their partner speaks exclusively Cantonese, they’re going to have a hard time in the bedroom.
Citing Gary Chapman’s book, “The Five Love Languages,” Steinberg explained that we all learn to give and receive love differently and speak different “love languages” and people often miss the mark when trying to tell their partners that they love them.
Steinberg will teach show attendees what the love languages are, how to identify theirs, how to identify their partner’s, and how to bridge the language barrier and improve relationships.
And the speaker has the impressive credentials to back up her views, Steinberg has spoken on a wide variety of topics related to mental health and minority issues, including self-care and work/life balance, recognizing and managing symptoms of depression and anxiety, the impact of trauma, LGBT affirmative interactions, and the impact of societal privilege related to racial, sexual, gender and ability minorities.
“I'm so honored to be part of this event,” Steinberg said about SHE. “As a sex-positive therapist, it's always wonderful to be surrounded by like-minded professionals and people from the community, and to learn new things in the most immersive way imaginable.”
People who’ve attended her talks describe Steinberg’s speaking style as “practical and informative” but also “relaxed, conversational, engaged, and interactive.” She also provides “relevant stories” that leave guests with a sense of how they “can apply the information from the talk to everyday life situations.”
