BALTIMORE — Vice.com featured sex educator and Komar Company buyer Ducky DooLittle in the article “What It’s Like to Test Sex Toys for a Living.”
The popular online magazine reached out to DooLittle with the intent of doing a “day in the life” feature, she said.
In the article Ducky speaks about her day-to-day tasks as an executive with adult product distributor Komar Company. The article takes a look at her unique job, her theories on what makes sex toys valuable, and her commitment to the end user’s pleasure.
"I'm not here to tell people what they can fuck," she says. "I'm here to help instigate their desire."
Her 26 years in the pleasure product business, working as a store clerk, a buyer, store manager and as an educator has given her perspective, she said.
"There is still a stigma about working in a sex shop," DooLittle said. "Anyone who works in a sex shop is already strong. People crack jokes, like, 'Oh, you sell vibrating doodads,' but in reality, a great worker has the potential to change somebody's relationship with their body, to change somebody's relationship with their partner, to help them find peace."
DooLittle says the article reveals how she continues to find joy in every aspect of the pleasure product industry.
