LOS ANGELES — On Dec. 6, the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) will hold a workshop for performers interested in learning about how to market themselves for work in the mainstream entertainment industry.
"In recent years, the adult film industry has attained incredible visibility in mainstream media," APAC president Chanel Preston said. "This means that performers now have multiple opportunities to enter into mainstream entertainment throughout their careers.
"APAC would like to support performers in branding themselves so that they can further their careers in adult entertainment and beyond," he added.
Rob Nelson, an accomplished author and notable TV and radio personality who has appeared as a host on E! Entertainment, UPN, ABC and Fox, will lead the workshop.
He will cover topics that include: techniques for successful interviews, red carpet strategies, how to best manage personal online platforms and opportunities for appearances in mainstream news and entertainment.
The event is open to all current and former performers in the adult film industry and will take place in the Los Angeles area. For information on attending, performers can contact APAC directly by email at apac.information@gmail.com.
The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee advocates to maintain and improve safety and working conditions in the adult film industry by giving adult performers organized representation in matters that affect their health, safety and community.
