ASACP Gets Mention on Huffington Post

LOS ANGELES — ASACP, formally known as the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection, received a mention in a recent article by the Huffington Post about how tech companies, including Apple and Facebook, are fighting against the online exploitation of children.

The tech world industry convened at the WeProtect Children Online Global Summit in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday and Thursday to discuss global progress in combating exploitation of children and to press for further advancements.

The Huffington Post, in the piece, reminded that the Internet remains an “optimal preying ground” for sexual predators due to the sheer number of kids who are active online.

Huffington Post noted that one organization has served an important purpose by attempting to protect minors from material such as adult-oriented products and services.

“Children make up one-third of all Internet users worldwide. And, every month, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection receives as many as 12,000 reports of child pornography alone,” the article said.
