LOS ANGELES — XBIZ is pleased to announce the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) will participate in RISE, an Adult Performer Appreciation Dinner presented by premier live cam network, LiveJasmin, set to be hosted in association with leading adult entertainment companies on Thursday, Nov. 19, in Los Angeles.
APAC joins some of the most visible brands in the industry that have pledged their support for the holiday season dinner that gives thanks to the performer community on behalf of participating companies for their contributions to the adult entertainment industry.
“APAC is thrilled to be a part of RISE,” said APAC President Chanel Preston. “We look forward to seeing a large group of performers who enjoy and take pride in what they do. Thank you, XBIZ, for a hosting an event that recognizes the adult performer community.”
The lineup of RISE sponsors thus far includes: LiveJasmin as Presenting Sponsor; Girlfriends Films as Diamond Sponsor; SugarDVD as Platinum Sponsor; Fleshlight, ATKingdom, MindGeek, Penthouse as Gold Sponsors; and New Sensations and Metro as Silver Sponsors.
XBIZ plans to announce the venue for RISE as well as additional details in the coming weeks.
APAC formed with the intent of being the only group of its kind — for performers, comprised of performers and led by performers. The group meets for about two hours on the first Sunday of every month, discussing issues that impact working porn talent. Those issues include everything from STI testing protocols and education about health concerns to fostering solidarity among the performer community and the ongoing condom legislation.
The organization’s Mission Statement also is posted on apac-usa.com.
In it, it says that APAC endeavors “to provide representation for performers in the adult film industry and to protect performers’ rights to a safer and more professional work environment.”
The Mission Statement goes on to say, “We are committed to working cohesively with all aspects of the adult entertainment industry and the public, strengthening unity between all performers, and maintaining a work environment where workers are valued, respected, and educated.”
