LOS ANGELES — The four-time and reigning XBIZ Male Performer of the Year, James Deen, is the subject of an in-depth profile by TheWrap.com.
In a feature titled "Inside Porn Superstar James Deen's Big Hollywood Crossover," The Wrap's Itay Hod writes that Deen just finished shooting a new TV pilot, and a documentary about his life has been picked up by Showtime and is slated to air sometime next year.
His recent mainstream appearances also include Showtime's "Happyish" and several short films he's produced.
Bret Easton Ellis, who wrote "The Canyons" that starred Deen opposite Lindsay Lohan in 2013, discusses Deen's appeal in the piece.
"Deen can go from light to dark in like a second," Ellis tells The Wrap.
Still, Deen's primary focus remains the porn biz.
"If I never get a job in mainstream I will be OK," Deen says in the story. "I have a whole other job in a completely different entertaining field."
