CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Shane's World Toys, made by CalExotics, will supply free sex toys to "Cocks not Glocks" campaign leader Jessica Jin, who is organizing an open carry dildo event at the University of Texas at Austin.
The protest was inspired by the contrast between a Texas law forbidding sex toys in school buildings and Senate Bill 11, which legalized concealed handgun weapons on campus for licensed owners. After Gov. Greg Abbot signed SB 11 in June, Texas became the eighth state to permit concealed weapons on private and public university campuses.
Shane's World Toys has supported sexual freedom movements in the past, like when it donated thousands of toys to the needy during their Sex Toys for College Students campaign. Now, they're helping Jin promote a sex-positive message that also advocates moving away from gun violence.
"Our company has always been a strong believer in open sexual expression," Shane's World CEO Brian Grant said. "We believe that if you can legally carry a gun on campus, you should have the same protection to open carry a sex toy."
The novelty manufacturer has also announced they'll supply any other campus that wants to participate in the #CocksNotGlocks cause.
"We believe that the right to openly carry a sex toy should be protected with the same vigor and passion as a handgun," Grant added. "Plus, they are way more fun. I would like to personally invite any campus organizer to contact us for their free shipment of Shane's World toys."
