LFP founder Flynt, who last spoke at the XBIZ Hollywood ’07 Industry Conference in February, was chosen for the award because he “has been a dynamic positive force in almost every aspect of adult entertainment, including clubs, casinos, publishing, video production, online and retailing to name just a few,” a release said.
Live Entertainment, which will hold the biannual Adultcon show March 23-25 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, plans to hold the awards show June 9 at the Key Club in West Hollywood, Calif.
The industry-only awards show will feature a select lineup of 17 female talent categories. Winners will receive an award known as “The Necklace,” which spells out Adultcon with a diamond.
The company in January created the American Academy of Adult Arts and Entertainment for the purpose of nominating and selecting the winners.
The Academy consists of 50 members from all facets of the adult entertainment industry. Five of the 50 will serve as the Board of Governors, which will handle the nomination process.
Flynt will be joined on stage at the awards show by daughter Theresa Flynt, who leads marketing efforts for LFP’s Hustler division.
