The XRCO, which was founded in 1984 to give adult entertainment industry writers and editors a voice in selecting the best of adult cinema, has grown to include members from Europe as well as online industry critics.
According to an XRCO spokesman, the breadth and depth of the group’s membership has combined to form the strongest list of nominees in the 23-year history of the awards.
Nominees will compete in more than 20 categories, including Best Director, Best New Stud, Unsung Woodsman, Best On-Screen Chemistry, MILF of the Year and Most Outrageous DVD Xtras, to name a few.
The Best Release category features such notable works as “Curse Eternal” and “The Visitors” from Wicked Pictures, “Emperor” from Vivid Entertainment Group, Ninn Worx production “Sacred Sin” and “Sex City” from Private/Pure Play Media.
The Best Epic category includes “Corruption” from Sex Z Pictures, Evil Angel’s “Fashionistas Safado: The Challenge,” “Island Fever 4” from Digital Playground, “Manhunters” from Wicked Pictures and “Tailgunners” from Adam & Eve Productions.
Brad Armstrong, James Avalon, Eli Cross, Michael Ninn and John Stagliano were nominated in the Best Director (Features) category.
Robby D, Jack the Zipper, Mike John, Jules Jordan and Jake Malone each got a nod in the Best Director (Non-Features) category.
Gianna, Jenna Haze, Sunny Lane, Tory Lane and Hillary Scott round out the list in the Female Performer of the Year category.
Stormy Daniels, Jenna Jameson, Jesse Jane, Ron Jeremy and Tera Patrick were each nominated in the Mainstream Adult Media Favorite category.
Hall of Fame Nominations include Mark Kernes, Rinse Dream, the Michael Ninn film “Latex” and Loni Sanders and Mai Lin as Film Pioneers. Special awards will go to Anna Malle and Christi Lake. Steven St. Croix and Mr. Marcus have been nominated to the Hall of Fame as actors, while their female counterparts are Janine, Serenity and Francesca Le. Asia Carrera is the XRCO Members’ Choice.
