HoloFilm Previews Holographic Porn at XBIZ Open House

LOS ANGELES — Adult industry insiders got their first taste of a historic leap in technology Thursday in a special Open House event for HoloFilm Productions in downtown L.A.

HoloFilm Productions' Brian Shuster and Anna Lee previewed the world’s first Synthologram™ porn scene produced for Virtual Reality viewing during the advance screening at XBIZ’s offices.

Shuster, the CEO of HoloFilms and founder of Utherverse, is a noted technologist who launched XPics Publishing in 1995 and the virtual world, Red Light Center, in 2003.

He came up with the term ‘Synthologram’ to describe the technology that allows the viewer to be inside the sex scene with the girls “freely walking around and viewing the entire setting and people in stereoscopic 3D all within a 360-degree sphere.”

During the event, Shuster and Lee, the president of Utherverse, also continued their recruitment of adult star ambassadors for their upcoming Public Awareness Campaign that launches this Tuesday.

Nikki Benz, Alexis Texas, Penny Pax, Alex Legend, Ela Darling, Kendra Lust and Kenzie Taylor were among the performers in attendance at the interactive demonstration.

"We’ve got a bunch of performers that are serving as ambassadors for the campaign and we’re looking for other ones," Shuster said. "We don’t want anyone to be an ambassador of the campaign unless they’re really a proponent of the art and unless they’ve seen the stuff that we’re doing and can actually talk intelligently about how much of a leap forward it is.

"So it was important that we come down here and show the technology, show the content and let them get excited.

"I really am hoping with the changing technology that we can change how the industry operates."

Shuster said the campaign ambassadors would be compensated for their work and that ultimately his vision is for HoloFilm porn stars to benefit from a residual program based on the revenues generated from their VR performances.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the HoloFilm team will lift the curtain on its anticipated #GivePornAHand campaign aimed at porn fans worldwide and designed to educate the public about the harm that illegal tube sites and piracy have done to the adult industry.

The IndieGogo campaign will showcase new XXX holographic scenes and ask fans to crowd-fund the production of this next-gen porn that is also safe from digital piracy.

The Vancouver-based Shuster, who took home the Industry Pioneer honor at the 2015 XBIZ Awards, created HoloFilms to develop Holographic, Synthologram and Holographic Avatar technologies designed for Virtual Reality content.

Anikka Albrite, August Ames, Manuel Ferrara, Adriana Sephora and Karlie Montana appeared in the first Synthologram porn scene that will launch with the campaign on Tuesday. Ferrara performed in and directed the hardcore sex scene with Albrite and Ames, while Sephora and Montana delivered girl/girl action in the same room.

The Open House attendees were the first to watch footage from the historic scene on prototype Oculus Rift and Samsung VR headsets. They also left with their own functional cardboard VR headsets as souvenirs of the occasion courtesy of HoloFilms.

Along with the Synthologram scene, HoloFilm Productions on Thursday also unveiled its first Hologram porn materials featuring Lily Labeau and Brent Ray Fraser.

"It’s really exciting for me to see other people in porn who believe in VR and put their money where their mouth is and really invest in it," adult star Ela Darling told XBIZ after she watched the HoloFilm footage. "It’s the future and it’s going to be amazing and these guys get it. The things that they’re doing are so on point."
