Interlandi told XBIZ he thought of the idea while sharing a pitcher with his father at a bar.
“My dad can’t pour; it was all head — you know, foam — at the top of my glass,” Interlandi said. “[I thought out loud] ‘We should have a Deep Throat beer; you can never have too much head.’”
Deep Throat blonde lager, and its slogan, was born.
Interlandi hired a brewery on the Central California coast to make the beer and he said it’s brewed and ready to go — now he’s deciding which of his two label prototypes to use on the beer’s specially designed extra-long-neck bottles.
Interlandi said he plans to private label his beer, create national buzz and wait for a distributor to pick it up. He wants to make Deep Throat Beer available across the country.
To spread the word, Interlandi is bringing his beer to every trade show and event he attends. He’ll host a Deep Throat Beer party at the International Lingerie Show, held in Las Vegas, April 16-18, and Interlandi said he also is touring the country with a mechanical bull and a special Deep Throat Beer bong.
Interlandi said he will have the first few cases of his brew packed within the next month.
