Police Use Facebook to ID Woman Charged With Obscenity

HILLSBORO, Ohio — A Ohio woman has been charged with felony pandering obscenity after police, scouring a bestiality website for individuals posting obscene acts involving animals, identified her later through Facebook.

The woman, identified as Amanda L. Cassner, 31, provided a profile on BeastForum.com that led to a connection on Facebook where she was ID’d, authorities said.

BeastForum serves as a chat forum platform that allows members upgraded access to a vast repository of carnal content involving animals.

Cassner is said to have shared a video on the message board that allegedly shows “a young, white and brown canine” and herself engaged in sexual activity, according to an affidavit.

She claimed that “she was not aware that it was illegal in the State of Ohio” when she posted a comment on a thread with an accompanying video titled “Female Home-Made Bestiality Pictures and Movies,” the affidavit adds.

The affidavit said that “it was found that the state of Ohio has no bestiality laws at this time but posting the video online does fall under pandering obscenity.”

A preliminary hearing for Cassner’s case is set for July 2, according to the Hillsboro Times Gazette.
