LOS ANGELES — Hot Mess Entertainment has announced plans to release “Don’t Call Me Caitlyn,” a title about “transsexual pride,” in July through Exile Distribution.
Howard Levine, head of sales for Exile, said the owner of Hot Mess is a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon that has been “at the forefront of transgender surgery for over 12 years.”
“This is a very personal title to him,” Levine said in announcing the movie. “Remaining way in the background since the inception of Hot Mess, Dr. X has found a new cause celebre. His message to all of us is to be who you are, and you just might get a reality show.”
The title plays off Vanity Fair's "Call Me Caitlyn" July magazine cover featuring the first photo of Caitlyn Jenner, the reality TV star formerly known as Bruce Jenner.
Levine added, “We were looking to cast the best and brightest transsexuals we could find. This is very hardcore sex with a twist.”
