LOS ANGELES — Dominic Ford was inducted into the prestigious "Wall of Fame," celebrating his contributions to the adult industry at the 2015 Grabby Awards on May 24 at Metro in Chicago.
Mark Nagle, co-founder of the Grabby Awards, remarked, "The Wall of Fame was created to reward people for their body of work. Dominic Ford was chosen for his work as a director, his work stopping the piracy of porn and his web magazine Adult."
Ford started DominicFord.com in 2008 and quickly became known in the industry as a technical pioneer. His site was the first to feature 3D gay porn, the first to allow 1080p downloads, and the first to stream content on iPads, iPhones and other mobile devices. He now produces content exclusively in 4K.
Seeing another problem in the industry, Ford co-founded Porn Guardian (PornGuardian.com) to help the entire industry combat piracy. The company has more than 400 adult brands as clients and has removed more than 11 million illegal versions of adult movies from the internet.
Ford's monthly magazine ADULT (iReadADULT.com) was the first (and only) interactive, hardcore gay magazine designed for the iPad. It has since been made available on all platforms, and is completely free.
Ford's ground-breaking content includes the reality show "So You Think You Can Fuck" and parodies such as "Whorrey Potter and the Sorcerer's Balls," which was featured on "Chelsea Lately."
Ford said, "I am humbled and grateful to be put on the Wall of Fame for my continued work and good will in the industry. I love this industry and fight every day for its survival, both for my own sake and for everyone else. The work we do, especially at Porn Guardian, is tireless and often thankless. An award like this absolutely means the world to me. Thank you so much to Mark and Stacey at the Grabby's for bestowing this honor upon me."
