ASACP Honors its Featured Sponsors for May, 2015

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for the month of May, 2015.

Honoring the providers of adult-oriented content and related services that have shown their dedication to supporting the association’s mission of keeping children out of and away from adult entertainment, ASACP’s Sponsor Recognition Program highlights the good deeds and proactive policies of its monthly featured firms.

According to ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning, adult entertainment companies in particular must take positive steps to protect their own business interests, especially when it comes to preventing access to age-restricted materials.

“Self-regulation by website owners is an increasingly important way for the industry to show that it takes child protection seriously,” Henning stated. “This is the best way to forestall governmental intervention and corporate restrictions on adult content, while strengthening the association’s position in discussions with relevant stakeholders.”

“ASACP’s Featured Sponsors set an example that should be followed by all media companies that are interested in their future,” Henning added. “Because this future depends on how well these companies can prevent children from accessing age-restricted materials.”

Recognizing its generous Featured Sponsors for May, ASACP graciously thanks Eros, plus The European Summit, and Cherry Pimps, for their ongoing support of the association and its fight to keep children out of and away from adult entertainment.

Eros
A well-known name in the adult entertainment industry today, Eros has supported ASACP as a Corporate Sponsor since 2006, and employs technical measures to restrict access to its sites through the use of the RTA label, serving as an example of the company’s commitment to safety and privacy.

“As the world’s leading adult entertainment guide for over 17 years, Eros has established a reputation as a trusted, safe and secure advertising channel serving a wide range of adult customers,” Eros spokesperson Chris explains. “From its inception, Eros has adhered to this proactive ‘for adults only’ philosophy in the manner in which it enables adults to advertise on its sites as well as in the manner in which viewers can access the ads.”

“As a trailblazer in the adult entertainment industry, Eros is highly respected by industry peers,” Chris adds, “and through its consistent sponsorship of ASACP, Eros remains a corporate role model and example of social responsibility.”

The European Summit
An ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2010, The European Summit hosts Europe’s leading B2B conference for the online entertainment industries, bringing together top representatives from the affiliate, billing, casual dating, domain name, mobile technology, website and traffic service arenas, in a comfortable setting that is conducive to exchanging ideas and information.

While The European Summit is not in the adult entertainment content business, it does attract many such operators, making it a prime venue for ASACP to deliver its message of c orporate responsibility towards keeping children out of and away from adult entertainment — and has extended considerable hospitality to the association over the years — such as fundraisers and complimentary event amenities, illustrating the range of opportunities beyond direct financial support that companies have when it comes to helping ASACP.

“Having a four-year old son myself,” confides TES organizer Andreas Bischoff, “I understand the importance of protecting children online and the value of supporting organizations such as ASACP.”

Cherry Pimps
Supporting the association as a Corporate Sponsor since 2013, Cherry Pimps helps to protect children and others from inadvertent exposure to age-restricted materials by locking its fare behind a pay wall — requiring viewers to purchase the company’s adult content, including its live webcam sex shows — rather than offering it free for all.

“We’re happy to continue our support of the ASACP as they work to help protect children online,” Cherry Pimps CEO Jack Avalanche explains. “Their work is invaluable and we must remember that their work is often thankless, but extremely necessary to keep child predators out of the online environment.”

“We thank the entire team at ASACP and look forward to many more years of cooperation,” he added. “I encourage all those who are not sponsors, to step up to the plate and participate, and give back to your community.”

The diversity of May’s Featured Sponsors illustrate the common ground that top tier adult entertainment companies find in their protection of children from age-inappropriate material, and in supporting ASACP. It is a demonstration of corporate leadership that exemplifies the best of today’s digital media firms.
